Shannon S. Crane
Shannon is a native of Hutchinson having graduated from Hutchinson High School. She graduated with Honors from Hutchinson Community College and the University of Kansas with a BA in American History, and received her Juris Doctorate with Honors from Washburn School of Law, Topeka, Kansas. Shannon was in private practice in Topeka, Kansas from 1986-1988. She then worked for the Appellate Defender's Office in Topeka from 1988-1990. There she defended felons in the Kansas Court of Appeals and Kansas Supreme Court. In 1990 she moved back to her hometown and began working for Kansas Legal Services which provides legal services to low income families. She worked for Kansas Legal Services for 19 years. She managed the local office in Hutchinson as well as several other offices throughout Kansas during her tenure with KLS.
Luann K. Trummel
Luann was born and raised in Wilmore, Comanche County, Kansas and graduated from Coldwater High School. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas. In 1993, she received her Juris Doctorate degree from the Washburn University School of Law. Upon graduating from law school, she embarked on a 16-year career as a staff attorney for the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services in the area of Child Support Enforcement. She has practiced primarily in Reno, McPherson, Kingman, Harper, Sumner and Harvey counties. Ms. Trummel has been honored for her volunteer activities in Hutchinson and Topeka, and is currently on the local Advisory Board of the Kansas Legal Services office. She is active at Trinity United Methodist Church, having worked on the Education Work Area, Staff-Parish Relations Committee, and Administrative Council, and is currently facilitating a youth discussion group.
Barbara J. Scholes
Barbara grew up in Ness City, Kansas, and graduated from Ness City High School. She went on to college at Cloud County Community College in Concordia where she obtained an Associate of Applied Science with emphasis in Legal Secretary. She worked for Vernon, Retter, and Long law firm in Concordia before moving on to Kansas Legal Services. Barbara became the Managing Secretary and Paralegal for two offices within Kansas Legal Services during her 13 years of service to Kansas Legal Services.

Throughout our years with KLS and the State of Kansas, we have dealt with many people who could not access the legal system because of lack of means.
