Shannon began working with the Kansas Agriculture Mediation Services (KAMS) program through Kansas State University in 1986 while with Kansas Legal Services. KAMS is a program administered through Kansas State University to assist farmers who are having difficulty with creditors or are dealing with adverse decisions from the Farm Service Agency (FSA). The KAMS toll-free hotline is answered by trained professionals who provide CONFIDENTIAL assistance for the Kansas agricultural community. The program’s goal is to help resolve conflicts and disputes using mediation.
Through this work Shannon has obtained extensive expertise with FSA programs and policies and with the financial issues relating to Kansas farmers. She has provided legal assistance for many Kansas farmers throughout the state of Kansas on a wide variety of issues.
